Humble Beginnings

It all started back in 1972 when Sergio Bracci, after an extensive career in the world of hospitality, decided to venture and further his prospects in the city of Fuengirola Malaga. Sergio Bracci undertook a challenge in the midst of a “pizzeria boom” where customers from Costa del Sol could not understand the difference between a sandwich and a pizza (bread) with tomato and mozzarella cheese. In 1972, the first pizzeria “O Mamma Mia” in Fuengirola was met with inaugural success. Following this astounding success, new stores were opened in Torremolinos, Malaga, Cordoba, Seville, Cadiz, and etc. This grew to a total of 11 pizzerias which were well received by locals. In 1992, with the operations of 11 self-owned restaurants, the founder and president had the idea of franchising a successful concept with over 20 years of Italian tradition in Spain.

O Mamma Mia, at present, continues to maintain its quality, unique style and expertise throughout Spain. She has accrued a loyal following looking for understated comfort good food served with warm hospitality.

Founder's Message

“O Mamma Mia brings back fond memories of my childhood. I grew up playing in the kitchen whilst watching my father worked. When other kids were making pizzas using Play Doh, I was having fun with the real pizza dough. The kitchen was my favourite place, my own personal nursery”, reminisced Mauro.

The history of how O Mamma Mia came about is interesting. “My father went to Spain in 1972 from a small town in Italy, with a pizza oven above his Fiat 500 and a truckload of Italian products. This was not commonly found in Spain at that time. His ideal was to share with people the wholesome feeling of tucking in to a home cooked meal by your “Mamma”, in an inviting cosy atmosphere”. That was how O Mamma Mia’s first pizzeria established itself, with originality, tradition, quality ingredients and dedication.

“As the second generation, I envision to take my Father’s ideals to other parts of the world. Singapore will be the first country outside Spain to taste these delicious dishes of the “Mamma”, freshly prepared with passion”.

“I’m very excited to be based here in Singapore and share with Singaporeans O Mamma Mia’s extensive menu at an affordable price. What differentiates us from other competitors is our passion to serve quality, remarkable Italian flavours, typical of a Mamma’s cooking.
